Tulips and Red Rose for Ling B'day

25 September 2007, is one the meaning full day for my beloved wife. That was her B'day, and as always like the other day I'd prepare something to gave her. But not that day, I hadn't prepare anything yet. I was thinking to bought her something, but what ?. I went to the office around 7:40 AM with a question in my head.

On 12 AM me and Yuan (one of my friend in the office) went out somewhere to Lippo Supermall. I remembered that there was a flower store near by hypermart. I saw so many flower at that store and asked the waiter whether there was a good rose. And at the beginning the waiter didn't pay any attention on me. He said that, there were only few rose left until I entered the store to found out my self. There were many flowers left at refrigerator, so without any more argue I asked him to gave me one.

I thought a rose should be enough but....mmmm..... I saw tulips there. Once again I asked the waiter to combine with previous rose. Orange tulip with the red rose....what a perfect combination I guest. I paid the bill and left the flower at the store, " I'd take the flower around 4:30 PM ", asked me to the waiter.

With the helped from Pak Sugeng ( the office security) he wrapped the flower to avoid the damage caused by my backpack when I went home. But unlucky for me the weather wasn't so friendly. Cloud was hanging so dark and look It was gonna rain soon. I rode my bike to go home in hurry and left my bag pack half open hoping it would not destroy the flowers. But the luck wasn't on my side yet, in the middle of my journey to go home the rain was start.

I opened my gate with wet around my clothes ups ...Ling already home. I expected that she wasn't home yet with the consideration to gave her a suprise. And without telling her, I put the flower behind the door. Until magrib time arrived to broke our fasting on that day. I put the flower on the dinner table with the card beside it so she could see it.

Happy B’day My Dear,

Me

Buy Nikon D80

hip hip Horay ...hip hip Horay...

Time Goes by so fast..... its been about 3 month that I havent seen this blog. At least three interesting moments happend around that 3 months.

1. On November 2006 we were traveling to Bali (really beautifull)

2. December 30, 2006 I got my D80 cool !!

4. December 31, 2006 New Year eve at Romly and Ida's home

5. January 7,2007 Jims and Dewi wedding day

Finally I got my own D80...... After a long suffer waiting. You can imagine that I had to sell 1 of my bike just for this beautifull item. It's hard decision that I had to be made. I keep my lovely KHS stay in my garage event thought that bike need to be repaired before I can use it. And Let the K2 away...... :(.

Actually, the reason why I made crazy decision ( for me this is crazy) by sacrificing one of my lovely bike. This all because of my brothers Umbang and Jims. They have to responsible with all the thing that I had made. But at last I never regret it....

Last Novemer 2006, jims emailed me that he and Umbang had a plan to buy a new DSLR camera. The thing that made me shock at that time was they wanted to buy Nikon D200..... !!!. As I knew the price for D200 body IDR 12.500.000,- or around US$1300. They asked me wether I wanted join them or not ?.

At that time I event had no plan to buy a camera, event though on my heart I fell in love at first sight with this D80. Considering it would be a lot of trouble when one camera should be owned with three person, coz I couldnot used it anytime I need it just not like if I own it. So I made a decision to buy my self. The hunter start hunting .... :).

In my opinion D200 is too far beyon my budget. My Choise between entry level is Nikon D40 or D80. In my mind D40 is also good camera but I had to consider that all lenses that I had couldn't be used anymore. Since D40 donot equiped with internal drive focus motor. Just like what Phil Askey said on his site
http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/nikond40/

" Perhaps the biggest negative on the D40 is that it doesn't have an internal focus drive motor and hence no mechanical focus drive pin, instead it only has CPU contacts which means it can only Auto Focus with AF-S and AF-I lenses (those with built-in focus motors)."

Then Nikon D80 was only my option. I had told Jims and Umbang that I wanted to buy D80 so I sugest them to invest also D80. They were agreed to buy also D80. The date was agreed on December 31, 2006 we would go to Mangga Dua to find the creature.

When the day had come me, Jim, Umbang and Dewi (Jims Fiance) went to Mangga Dua. At that time I felt that something wrong with both of them. I felt that they were hiding something behing me. But it was oke for me. At least I would find out what they were trying to hide from me.

My suspiciouse becaming clearly, when we entered the store they were already familiar with the sales person. Mmmm...this two ugly faces just trying to cheated on me......... Fine then :). I asked the sales person that I wanted to buy two camera suddenly Jims interupted me.

Jims " No..bro ..we just want to buy one, coz we bought D80 earlier ".

Me "Ooo... no wonder that is why you both are so strange, but it is ok. I'll buy this D80 anyway".

Then I bought Nikon D80 body only with 1 Gbyte SD Card for about IDR 8.625.000,- or around US$875. Expensive enough for my recent condition, but decision had to be made and couldnt be canceled.

Finally I have Nikon D80 ...... The Dream come True..........

Cross Country MTB'er most favorite type of riding

Cross-country mountain-bikes are designed to go as quickly as possible over whatever nature may throw in your path. A truly competitive “XC” mountain-bike provides a forward-leaning body position close to that of a road-racing bike; and since it has to go uphill fast as well as down, it must be reasonably light. That used to mean a “hardtail” (a mountain-bike with front suspension only) but technology has been refined to the point where more can be gained than is lost by suspending both wheels. Expect between 50 and 100mm (2 to 4 inches) of suspension travel and to pay quite a lot: lightweight efficiency never comes cheap.

Hardtails are still favoured by many cross-country riders and these light but sturdy bikes provide the best basis for conversion to other uses, e.g. to make a tough commuting bike. If you may want to do this, check that the frame has fixings for a rear carrier, some don’t anymore, and that the disc brake isn’t in the way (a common problem with cable-operated discs, hydraulic ones are more compact). Since so many people like to use mountain-bikes on road, manufacturers now provide urban mountain-bikes already fitted out with smooth tyres and a rigid fork.

The riding position on an XC racing mountain-bike, whilst efficient, is not so comfortable if you ride slowly. A shorter, raised handlebar stem or riser bar (handlebar where the grips are higher than the centre) will give a more relaxed ride.

Short Time but Feels Good

Saturday Evening October 7, 2006

That was a horrible day that should be passed. Lucky me I could pass that day, without sacrificed my fasting during this fasting month. The most important thing is, I still could ride my bike. I did a lot off activity that day; including fixing my motor bike accompanying my wife went to supermarket. Such a boring thing to be done but I had to do that, otherwise she will do something that going to put me in trouble... :).

The time showed around 5:00 pm, I still had 45 minutes before breaking my fasting time arrives. I had to make a choice whether just stay home waiting for the time or I still could use my time to ride my silver KHS event only one lap. Then the decision had to be made, I choose second option to fulfill my passion.

I started to thinking that I only had at least 30 minutes on the road. Once I closed the gate, park my Jeep there was only one thing on my mind. I should take my bike out as soon as possible. With only doing little bit warmed up I started pedaling my bike. It was feeling good, no matter my throat feeling so thirsty. I rode my KHS with a strategy. In the First 15 minute me’ would ride it slowly and the second 15minutes I'd make a sprint. The lap it self it wasn't so long, only about 10km from my home to my home as a starting point and finish. It didn’t mean that I’m going no where :).

I had to make an adaptation to my bike. I've just put my full suspension bike to the barn. But it was only a while. Then I can find the rhythm like a usual. I made my short journey on that evening slowly with the wind on my face....mmm...nice.

I started pushing my speed when my watch shows it was about 15 minute before fasting time over. Only about 4 km left, I was pedaling my KHS like crazy push to the limit. But anyhow I'm not an athlete or superman. With only one by one breath I slowed my bike down.

There was paint on my throat. I need water or something that I should drink. And lucky me the azan magrib (summon) already sounded by the mosque near by my housing complex. Put my bike on the bike place, run to the dinner table where my wife prepared me with the glass of warm sweat tea. And gluk ...gluk ...gluk......aahhhhhhhh...... feels good.

Thanks Honey.
